Abandoned are these clothes that lie lifeless on the floor of my mobile home. The shoes and the socks were the last to be put on, but the first to come off. The socks were just grateful to have been worn, even if only on half of each foot. Next in line was the knitted blue sweater. It had served its purpose by providing a soft and warm caress in the classroom setting, but outside it was a humid 85 degrees. It flipped inside out and held onto the head for a bit, so it took some pleading to cast off. Then, the red shorts were pulled down to expose two layers of underwear. The green underpants had kept the briefs underneath it company for hours, however, fresh air was needed. Surprisingly, the briefs stayed on.
